We are currently in Unit 26 (Week 3 Term 4) Theme for Term 4: THE OCEAN
Our theme for the term is 'THE OCEAN'. We will learn about the sea, creatures of the sea and about how we can do more to conserve our beautiful beaches.
OUR TRANSPORT PROJECTS
Please go onto the Kids' Work page to view our projects which we presented as slideshows. This is the first time any of us have ever made a slideshow - even our teacher was doing it for the first time! We are very proud of the results.
The Space Race timeline
We found this really cool feature where we can create our own timelines. This space timeline was already featured but we are going to have a go at creating some of our own, using facts we have learnt about space discoveries.

MEET THE GRADE 3s...This year we have a small group of Grade 3s - just 4 boys! Daniel, Joshua, Nathan and David. They are all really eager to learn and like most little boys they LOVE technology. This is why we have decided to create our own webpage and see where it takes us... a new experience for all of us at this stage!
Developing children through drama!
Our class presented The Emperor and the Nightingale at our annual Drama Academy Production evening. They did us proud! Aspiring little actors and dancers! |
Fansa visit!Nathan very bravely volunteered to be the patient when Fansa came to teach the Preschool and Foundation Phase children about what it would be like to be in hospital. See more photos of the visit from Fansa, on the Gallery page.
A slithery, scaly experience....We had a visit from the Kleinplasie Reptile Park today. It was a wonderful opportunity for the kids to get up close and personal with the snakes most likely to be found in this area. So if in doubt, just ask one of the Lanner House pupils for some advice on how to identify that snake! See more pics on our Gallery page. You can learn more about the Reptile Park on www.kleinplasiereptilepark.co.za
Kleinplasie Outing with the Gr 2s...
We recently visited Kleinplasie in Worcester, with the Gr 2s. The boys learned about transport from the past and with the help of the Kleinplasie staff made wagons out of tuna tins and wood. They were most excited to be able to hammer the nails in all by themselves. They also loved the ride on an old train.
